Coleman TV have often captured priceless aviation stories and secrets as a result of their unparalleled access to private and public aviation specialists, owners and collectors worldwide, harnessed across two decades of experience.

After a rare World War II seaplane becomes stranded on Loch Ness, the race is on to repair the precious aircraft and return it safely to the air. Can the team save one of the only air-worthy UK examples of the Catalina, or will the Scottish weather kick in and destroy the plane?

Residents and visitors to Loch Ness had the pleasure of seeing a rare World War II ‘Catalina’ flying boat operating from Scottish waters in the autumn of 2020. However when the lumbering seaplane made to leave, disaster struck, with an engine failure leaving her stranded.

Exposed to the elements and with the risk of storms on the notorious Loch, this documentary follows the owners as they battle to prevent the aircraft from ending its days as a wreck in the murky depths of Loch Ness. As she is one of the few examples of the plane that is still air-worthy, we document the urgent 6-week battle against funds, weather and logistics, to save ‘Miss Pickup’.

Stunning grand and aerial footage from the Loch combines with the fascinating back story of the type, the aircraft itself and the role of the Catalina in Scotland during WWII.
